Being a Slave to AI?

Last night I was binge watching Netflix, because I have my accounting exam. Who wants to study that, eh? In the middle of the two idiotic rom-coms, I also saw a documentary "The Social Dilemma".   When you find it on your Netflix feed, by the name itself you shall think, "Oh! It is going to tell us how internet is scary and etc etc.," and you'll continue to scroll the feed to watch something else. Why? Because YOU cannot face the truth, that the SOCIAL PLATFORMS where you want to spend so much time on, are actually owning you? Artificial Intelligence, isn't just about the robots killing people in the future. It is in the NOW. It is running your lives. The people who themselves were a part of the platforms, like Tristan Harris - share the scary impact that social media has on the people around you. For example, take the rumors spread on Corona Virus? You think those people were not manipulated on believing that? No one is that stupid. It's the AI that ma...

The Last Thought

Did you know that on average, a person has 12000 to 16000 thoughts in a day?  Of course, we don't remember all of it. Writers need to put down their thoughts on paper, right there and then if they find them interesting. Or blippi-ti-bloop the thought will be forgotten, and might never come back.  It is evident that not all our thoughts are worth thinking anyways. Sometimes, they come in a cluster which makes it impossible to be in the present. Who is being harmed by this? You, right? I listened to a Sadhguru video a few days back, where he told, how we can use our mind for happiness. Instead of belittling ourselves, we can create stories or scenarios that may or may not come true, but at least will serve the purpose of cheering us.  Unfortunately, most of us let our minds rule us, instead of us being the one in control of it. We are human beings, and yes, we shall get upset from time to time. But, it's our mind that pulls us into depression. So, why not use our minds for ...

Person in the Mirror.

We are fragile. Sensitive hearts that sometimes hurt too much. Yet, no way that we are going to the therapist, eh? Who wants to pay 2000 rupees to drain out their dull-head on a complete stranger? However, there are other ways to be mentally strong though. By mentally strong I mean -- accepting the situations, and yourself, without being critical and calling yourself a "dull head." Get it? Yoga. Meditation. Visiting temple. Visiting Gurudwara. Listening Gurbani or any other soft music. Chanting Om. Ever tried? Being an atheist, you’d never like to visit a religious place. But, if you had an upbringing in a spiritual family, you will always have an inkling to have faith in the higher power. At the time of lowest of lows, you'll want to bend your knees and simply pray. It is like meditation-- in the realms of practical world. The motive is to find something that gives you peace. Find something that makes your inner soul alive, so you don’t feel dead on the inside a...

Anxiety... or is it dissatisfaction?

"Anxiety" might be a commonly used term to describe the state of restlessness. These days it seems like no one is "peaceful" anymore. When I met my college friend after a long time, I recalled who I used to be. Our view used to be the same and those were of being "satisfied" with whatever you have. It was about being happy in the moment for all that exists. But as time has passed by and new dreams and goals have developed, I seem to have lost a calmness in my heart. I might smile and be polite, but inside there is a havoc, I feel. A dire need to achieve something golden or to get recognized for a good work. Today, while I was writing an article for a website, I realized maybe it isn't about reaching your goals, but more about working on your skills to achieve those. When everyone says that you need to promote your talents, we forget that we need to improve them as well. Practice might not be enough, if we aren't paying detailed attention to it...
