Person in the Mirror.

We are fragile. Sensitive hearts that sometimes hurt too much. Yet, no way that we are going to the therapist, eh? Who wants to pay 2000 rupees to drain out their dull-head on a complete stranger? However, there are other ways to be mentally strong though. By mentally strong I mean -- accepting the situations, and yourself, without being critical and calling yourself a "dull head." Get it?

Yoga. Meditation. Visiting temple. Visiting Gurudwara. Listening Gurbani or any other soft music. Chanting Om. Ever tried?

Being an atheist, you’d never like to visit a religious place. But, if you had an upbringing in a spiritual family, you will always have an inkling to have faith in the higher power. At the time of lowest of lows, you'll want to bend your knees and simply pray. It is like meditation-- in the realms of practical world. The motive is to find something that gives you peace. Find something that makes your inner soul alive, so you don’t feel dead on the inside anymore.

All through our life, we learn that we have to be “strong.” We fear that if we shed a tear, we’ll break apart and it will be impossible for us to put the pieces back together. And somehow, we become so distant from our very own soul. We try to claw our way out of reality in any way that doesn’t let us feel the sting in our chest. We try our best not to feel like a complete loser, so we start living in denial. Trying to avoid our actual thoughts deep within us, and find an escape. Don’t we?

Escape ranges from “Netflix and chill” to being “engrossed in our work.” But no, we are social animals. We want the emotional well-being and not just the financial one. So, we must find a source that helps us get in touch with the person looking back at us in the mirror. We must know what we want and what we don’t, or we lose track of ourselves.

One thing we have to learn in our life is that we don’t need validation. People will advise all they want, from their perspectives, but we are the only ones who are well-aware about our story. They will talk, and continue living their own goddamn lives, but it's our life on stake. We are living in it, and we know very well if we want to change it or stay the same.

There are times when we have to fight for our happiness. When there is no other way, but to make a change. Don’t be apologetic for how you feel and then, don’t be afraid to start over. Don’t fear that you will have to explain yourself. Why do you even need validations?

  3. The mirror fails to identify
The man who faces her every morning.
    Bright in love in parts
And gloomy in hate in rest.
    I don’t distinguish. I don’t comprehend.
    Who’s the real me?
The man who crosses the ocean for affection?
Or the man who burns the bridge in hate?
The smiling man on a bright Sunday?
Or the devil at 3 AM?

In the Lies

There are a thousand ways we imagine things could conspire to be. Yet when the outcome turns to be the one we didn't want, we begin to break down.  We begin to hate the chances taken. We begin to hate the efforts that we put in. We regret.  Sometimes, it is difficult to say that the fate of our lives is in our hands. That we are the master of our world. Maybe we are not, because we try to do our bests yet we can't achieve. What is the purpose then? We ask ourselves, our friends, maybe the higher power. If things aren't meant to roll out the way we expect, what is the point of working on them?  However, there is a way we manage to survive. It's in the lies that we tell others, maybe ourselves too. The truth about lies is, if we say them enough, we start to believe them  ---  "Does it still hurt?" "No"      And unless someone looks into our eyes, we begin to realize all the lies that we have been telling ourselves and once again shred into pieces. F...
